God talk is what I say when others say ‘theology’. Theology is really just a way of saying, “this is what we think about God”. I am passionate about describing God in the best ways possible – in ways that make sense of the world around us, to the world around us.
God Talk is therefore a space for speaking well about God and how our experience of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit impinges upon everything that we are and do and say.
I want these thoughts to explore the creative process from an artist’s point of view with reference to God, the greatest creative! I want to explore with you our understanding of worship beyond music and also to think about the songs that we do sing and the ways in which they form us and shape communities that reflect God’s style.
So engage and reflect and be changed.
In this first article I want to explore the first step in the writing process — creating the space and the right conditions to receive songs into our lives. Of course, if you write poetry or plays or sermons or paint and sculpt, then many of these principles apply!
